You are going to end up with a melted front sight. The magpul sights are not meant to be mounted on gas blocks.

You’ll find one easily, they sell gas block sights all over.
Your neighbors don’t care about you running around the front yard with a rifle? Must be nice

Aimpoints typically allow for faster target aquisition the further forward you run them. People get too caught up in the hunting rifle eye relief, your T-1 should be further forward (like as far forward as you can Scope Mount it on your upper receiver) an be sure that you index it prior to tightening to ensure your zero is retained.

My dad got a job at L3 about a year ago, so he switched out his Aimpoint for an EOTec. Well, I found his old Aimpoint just sitting collecting dust and decided it needed a new home It’s pretty old (for a Comp4, about 2 years old), and I’m pretty sure it’s a real Aimpoint, but I’m noticing that if I put a brand new AA battery (a good duracell) it gets drained in only a couple of days. Even if the Aimpoint is turned off it still gets drained… I’m pretty sure that is not normal as

Rebarrel your M1 and save money for ammo. Ok, before I get drilled – I did the search (exactly like the title) and came up dry. Secondly, I have an AR10 – so it isn’t bashfest time. Simple question – feeding and extraction ONLY – is the M1A Accessories a more reliable weapon? –

But you have to be aware of all the sound in your life, explained Andrew Vermiglio, an audiologist with the House Research Institute, a nonprofit organization that studies and promotes hearing protection safety. “It’s not just MP3 players. Because it can be hard to judge how loud your listening level is, Dr. Fligor suggests setting your player to a comfortable listening level at home and not raising it to overcome background noise once you get outside.

I have never had that problem with my Mossberg 500 Accessories 500 Persuader. You may have a weak or broken extractor or extractor spring.
steveinct 9/5/2007 7:30:54 PM EST
Sounds like a rough chamber and/or cheap shells with steel heads that swell and stick to the chamber walls causing stiff extraction
The most recent vintage tactical shotguns by Mossberg 500 Accessories and Remington are finished extremely poorly and I’m surprised they even let them out of the factory the way they do today in many cases.
03rangerxlt 9/5/2007 7:53:48 PM EST
Just some more info on the gun:
Its new, been fired on 2 occasions, probably 20 to 40 rounds total before today. The problems started soon after the first rounds went down range.

i have never seen one fail like that honestly.
i know they are prone to haveing ejectors break but i have seldom seen a pump tactical shotgun fail to extract.
have you pulled the bolt and check the extractor?
03rangerxlt 9/6/2007 6:54:18 AM EST
No, but that mya happen today if she starts acting up again. She is also shooting very inaccurate. Very low and to the left. Gonna put her on a bench today to see if we can dial her in at 25 yards.
03rangerxlt 9/6/2007 5:28:54 PM EST
Aight! For those that care:
tactical shotgun was functioning more reliably today. I believe the failures to extract where cause by one particular type of round (Fiocchi Target loads). It only happened once today. Fed lots of Remington Law enforcement 00 and Slugs, and Winchester Ranger Slug through it today without problem. Also got her dialed in on the bench properly and she was printing nice groups (sometimes one hole). Overall pretty happy with the thing.

sounds like you found it.
i had some problems with some S&B bucksot a few years ago. it had a thin rounded rim and the extractor slipped off pretty easily. that crap would run in anything i had.
03rangerxlt 9/6/2007 8:37:24 PM EST
Oh yeah, while its fresh in my mind, I would like ot explain why I am a dumbass…
Why? I had two other malfunctions I haven’t mentioned here. They were my fault. I purchased cheap accesories for my tactical shotgun manufactured by TacStar. The heatshield didn’t fit right and scarred up my barrel’s finishing pretty bad. I kept it on after modifying it to fit to cover the scratches. Well, it was clanginging because it wasn’t fitting right and I ended up taking it off. Wish I had a properly fitting heat shield a couple times today when that barrel got hot.

the FAL i very reliable when it is built properly. a hell of a lot more reliable than the M16
and if your right then why are british troops asking for their L1A1′s back?

StealthyBlagga 7/18/2011 10:10:32 AM EST
I played with a friend’s 712 Utility. It is surprisingly light in the hand, comparable to a Benelli. As would be expected, it shoots softer than a Benelli. My friend had added a DMW Carrier Release Bar from a Benelli and it fit/functioned just fine. The gun cycled everything I fed it with 100% reliability. I don’t know how much ammo he has put through it by now, nor how it will hold up long-term, but it looked pretty well made to me. For $400, the CZ route is likely to be a lot more economical. The only potential downside would be if you wanted to add a pistol grip stock… presumable 922r would come into play. If you want a pistol grip stock, the Mossberg 500 Accessories is not a good choice either due to the location of the safety.

I toyed with the idea of a pistol grip stock but don’t know if it is for me or not. I have never shot one before but like the idea of them. I might eventually get one for my 870 just to try it out.

I like them myself, but the majority opinion in the 3-gun world is that a traditional stock works better for most. If you really want a pistol grip, I would look at the Remington 11-87 (what I run, used examples are plentiful around $400, require careful maintenance to keep running) and slap on a Choate stock, or consider the FN-SLP Tactical ($1100 new) if you can stand the butt-ugly stock design:
